Diamond engagement rings are associated with social prestige also, with the bride wearing the ring appreciated everywhere and the same can be said about her fiancé. But it is the carat weight of the diamond that the people assess when they look at it on the ring. so, what should be the carat weight? There is no fixed and one acceptable weight that we can mention here. But some trends can be watched regarding it.

According to a report, this year, average weight of the diamonds picked up for the engagement rings have been 0.38 carat. If we compare it with previous trends, it can be said that people are purchasing diamonds with increased carat weight then yesteryears.

If we talk of the cities like Boston, Philadelphia and New York City, the average diamond carat weight has been 1.6 there. In some Southern states, the average weight was very low to 0.25 to 0.40, which is clearly against the common advice that an engagement ring should have diamond of one carat. Pick up the one that suits best to you.
